Meditation has had a profound impact on my life. My old anxieties seem to have melted away to reveal a more balanced, relaxed and clear thinking version of me. I would recommend the meditation course to anyone and everyone. Serene's masterful understanding means that she is able to communicate what is often regarded as a complex subject in a clear and accessible way. I was unsure what to expect when I went to meet Serene, as I was recommended by a family member to visit her to help with a recent diagnosis for depression, anxiety and alopecia. From the moment Serene of theserenespace arrived she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She went through all the techniques and practiced them with me over the course of several hours, while we also discussed the thought processes and studies conducted into meditation. She is realistic in what she asks, in that she teaches mediation that can fit in with your lifestyle. I highly recommend Serene as she is friendly and professional in her approach, and the techniques have been extremely beneficial. I made positive steps forward after only two weeks. I still manage to practice at least 5 times a week and have built it into my after work routine helping me to relax and unwind after a hard day at the office.
I went into learning with an open mind, and after previous experience, with little expectation but during my first session I became in awe of the practice and I've loved it ever since. At the time I was suffering with chronic hypertension head pain and going through depression but I know that the skills I learnt with Serene of theserenespace helped me in immeasurable ways. In the first session I experienced something magical and saw that I had access to an incredible calmness and happiness within myself, a concept that would've previously seemed mad and impossible before! In one of the practices I was physically shaking and felt overwhelmed by love, an experience I didn't realise could happen through meditation. Though I went into learning meditation open minded I was still a little reserved and shy to it but Serene calmed me instantly and had such a supporting, loving presence and style of teaching, I felt completely safe and fundamentally empowered learning with her.
As someone who has suffered strongly from depression and anxiety, I believe the mediation that I learnt with her has been one of the single most powerful tools I have to overcome these parts of me and enable me to access a feeling of continuing calm and clarity. Over a year later and I have experienced different meditation techniques, spending time in Bali and learning different ways but I always come back to this mediation, practicing daily allows me to access an inner abundance of tranquility and love, and enables me to keep above a level of depression and anxiety on a daily basis. Overall, I am so happy with my experience learning with theserenespace, she is knowledgeable, passionate and with her support and encouragement I have learnt life enhancing techniques that have ultimately changed my life for the better, mediation is simply one of the most important, freeing and empowering things I have ever learnt and I am so grateful that I was able to be shown this through an amazing teacher like Serene.
