atma kriya yoga ~ the yoga of devotion
Atma means Soul, Kriya means action with awareness and consciousness, Yoga means unity with the Divine. The most powerful form of yoga in existence in the world today. Some of the greatest Yoga Masters the world has ever known come from the lineage of Atma Kriya Yoga, it is mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred spiritual text of Hinduism which is universally revered by spiritual scholars and devotees the world over. This is an open and inclusive tradition welcoming all faiths, cultures and beliefs or none. It is not dogma, religion or a cult. It is purely the path to know your Self, the path to Love ~ Divine Love.
the beauty of Atma Kriya Yoga lies in its simplicity. It is an advanced practice yet allows those who have never meditated before to easily and effortlessly master the techniques, and experienced meditators to achieve deeper than ever states of being. This is the path to the core of human and cosmic consciousness. The path to the Soul. Beyond human love, the worldly love of condition and limitation, there is Divine Love. Through awakening unconditional pure Love within, Atma Kriya Yoga opens us to this Divine Love.
the jewel in the crown of the course is to receive Shaktipat. Shaktipat is the reason why Atma Kriya Yoga is the most powerful form of Yoga. It is the energy within this ancient and sacred Yoga passing from the Masters of the lineage to the Kriya student (the 'sadhak') ~ known as the Descent of Grace. It is almost impossible to convey the true meaning of this energetic flow in terms our limited minds can comprehend, it has to be experienced. It is a rare and beautiful experience.
through this truly transformational and profoundly powerful Kriya Yoga remember and realise your Self ~ the infinite eternal part of you ~ the Soul. We are in the physical realm of course with a human mindbody experiencing the wonder of life with its ebb and flow, change, challenge and opportunities for growth and evolution. The human body as we know has its time, it grows, ages and eventually dies as with all things that are born. As joyful and wondrous as our physical life experience is, it is finite. The part of us that is beyond the physical realm, not of the body but of the spirit ~ the Soul ~ does not wither or age or die, it is ever alive flowing and free. This part of us that is Divine is eternal and infinite.
this is a journey of remembrance of all that has been forgotten, that you are a perfect, pure enlightened being. Whether you yearn to know your life purpose or simply live more consciously and joyfully from a place of peace and presence, in this space, in the stillness, the answers you seek gently come. Meditation brings clarity.
this is the culminating moment of creation. This moment in the life of the Universe, of the Earth and of us, humanity. All of space and time and all of creation led to this very moment. This point in time. This NOW. If you struggle to understand what this really means, in simple terms, it is this very moment we are living and breathing.
the time is now. If you've always wanted to learn meditation there is no time like the present. The present moment is all that really exists. Begin with the breath, we cannot breathe in the past, we cannot breathe in the future only in the totality of this moment, right here right now.
the eternal questions | who am I? what do I really want? why am I really here?
The point zero deepest questions of the Soul. Ancient and modern humanity alike whatever the level of consciousness has gazed up at the starry night sky and contemplated the eternal questions, looked inward and sought the answers or simply wondered through the filter of the mind.
Who am I? What do I really want? Why am I really here? What is my purpose?
Today's modern world or ancient times we have all undoubtedly, at some point contemplated the mystery of our existence and the Universe. Searched for meaning in the mundane everyday, for the calm in the chaos, for our true purpose, for something more than this. Mused, wondered and yearned to know our place in life and the cosmos. Sometimes the questions are so big we would not be able to understand the answers were we to receive them in their fullness because we normally perceive the world around us through the filter of our limited mind.
The human mind is a beautiful, complex and mysterious thing but it is limited whereas the Divine consciousness, the Universal power and life-force, God (or whatever name, word or phrase resonates with you) is timeless, limitless, boundless, infinite so how can the human mind with its finite intellect possibly comprehend such an infinite limitless force?
With meditation we can transcend the mind as we vibrationally align, connect with and become in union with this cosmic consciousness because in this state we are connecting through the pure channel of the heart. The heart has its own intelligence, compassion and understanding beyond the limitations of the mind. It is often referred to as the meeting point between heaven and earth, between the physical and spiritual realms.
Utimately through embracing this tradition of meditation we can open up the wellspring of vitality, pure potentiality, Divine Love and innate peace within us. Learning to live in full presence, awakens awareness so we can enjoy being here and now in the totality of our Self without the layers of conditioning of our life and place in the world, of others and our connection. So we can be the change. Be the answer because we are living the answer.
