Taking time, at your own pace and allowing you, the student to fully understand, experience and explore each technique. Giving the student authentic grounding in the true meaning of Yoga {union with the Divine} its eight limbs, origins, terminology, the philosophy and of course the experience of the yogic practice of meditation so it becomes a familiar landscape that the student learns to love experiencing. Too often people start and stop a meditation practice my aim is to inspire my students to start and maintain their practice and when they are ready to delve deeper and beyond with the higher practice.

the course allows the participant a safe, nurturing and in my experience, a very healing space within which to learn the easy to master techniques which can be perfectly incorporated into one's daily routine. The aim is to go beyond the distractions of the mind and the body, to be mentally and physically at ease. Correct posture and comfort are not mutually exclusive, there is nothing to be gained by being in a position that causes constant fidgeting or aches and pains. The cross legged Lotus is the ideal but is usually too advanced and uncomfortable for newcomers, so comfort reigns supreme. Sitting with spine straight and aligned aids the energetic flow during meditation and is also optimal for the inner workings of the body, this is easily achieved on a chair, sofa or floor. The body has memory, it will naturally become at ease with the meditation position and remember this is when you get calm, cosmic and connected. Some intuitively progress into the Lotus position ~ always do what feels natural for your body. It is simply being free to BE in your inner space. On the course you will gain understanding of the significance of:
- mala (garland of beads)
- mudra (hand positions)
- mantra (sound word or phrase in sanskrit)
- pranayama (cleansing purifying breathwork)
- sankalpa meditation (a solemn vow a heartfelt intention to fulfill your passions and deepest dreams)
- loving kindness meditation (sending love from the centre of your being to all living things and to the vastness of the universe)
- chakra meditation
- deeper heart centred techniques that connect with grace to the heart and Soul
there is a natural flow to the meditations creating a beautiful, fluid practice which you will happily carve out time for. Every step is clearly explained with ample time for questions and further practice. There is ongoing support and review classes for all my students as required.
